MSR175 Shock Transportation Data Logger

The MSR175 shock transportation data logger is the newest miniature logger from MSR.  The MSR175 utilises two 3-axis acceleration sensors, with high performance sensor technology, combined with sophisticated storage and evaluation electronics to allow the logger to record shocks and jolts at up to 5kHz.

The new MSR175 logger can record shocks over a period of several weeks and is suitable for transportation monitoring of all types of goods from satellites to fine art or delicate equipment to glassware. Whilst the MSR175 won't prevent damage, it does allow for the identification and continuous documentation of shocks and jolts experienced during transportation and allows for future remedies to prevent any recurrence.

There are two variations of the data logger, both of which include the two 3-axis acceleration sensors and internal temperature sensor. The second variant, however, includes three additional internal sensors – for light, humidity, and pressure. These additional sensors can be used to monitor temperature, humidity and pressure extremes that might also damage items in transport. The light sensor may also be used as a simple means of logging if and when packages are opened on route.

The MSR175 data logger is supplied complete with evaluation and storage electronics, as well as a rechargeable battery. The installed memory of the data logger is capable of storing over 2,000,000 measured values. Logging periods of up to 8 weeks are possible, allowing road, sea and air freight to be monitored. Logging can started immediately after the configuration, at a specific date or via the integrated button.

Easy-to-use: MSR ShockViewer software for analysing the measured data

After the logger has been retrieved, the data recorded can be transferred to a computer via a USB port. Subsequent analysis and charting is possible using the intuitive MSR ShockViewer software. In the process, you can analyse critical events at a glance and document them conclusively in a report; a frequency analysis facilitates identifying the causes of shock events.
