WindSonic Solid State Wind Speed and Direction Sensor

The Windsonic solid state anemometer provides wind speed and direction data into one serial stream or two analogue outputs. The WindSonic unit is a robust, lightweight (0.5kg) sensor with a corrosion-free polycarbonate blend housing. The WindSonic M is a durable, hard-anodised aluminium alloy housing with an optional heating system allowing for operations down to -40°C. Both WindSonic units are suitable for use in harsh marine environments and use an ultrasonic measurement principle that will avoid the problems caused by the fragility of cups and propellers. Units are supplied with mating connector and WindCom software for logging data directly from the serial output.

The WindUltra is a compact ultrasonic anemometer providing wind speed and direction data into a serial RS485, Modbus, NMEA and SDI-12 output.The WindUltra is a small, lightweight (0.27kg) sensor and covers a wind speed range up to 75m/s. The WindUltra sensor locks into a 1" or 2" Pole Mounting adaptor, allowing for a quick and easy installation. GMX200 Wind Speed & Direction Sensor with Compass

The MaxiMet GMX200 is an ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor with an electronic compass. This enables the unit to provide apparent wind measurements, average speed and direction together with WMO averages and gust data is also provided. The optional GPS also provide compensated wind speed and direction readings, making the instrument ideal for wind monitoring on vehicle and vessels. The data is output in serial formats - RS232, RS485. SDI12, NMEA and MODBUS.

The WindObserver 65 has all of the performance features of the WindSonic with additional features including: Increased speed range, 0-65m/s; Optional de-icing system, extending the operational temperature range; IP66 Stainless Steel housing, which is particularly suitable for use in salt-water environments; Sonic temperature output; and scaleable analogue outputs (multiples of ±10m/s up to ±70m/s), with V or mA outputs. WindObserver 70, 75 & 90 Ultrasonic Anemometers

The WindObserver 70 is a solid state, heated ultrasonic anemometer designed for use within the aviation industry and for applications where weather conditions are more extreme. The sensor is accepted for service by both the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration and the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) for the observation and reporting of surface wind. This WindObserver meets the requirements of Annex 3 of the convention on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The WindObserver 75 is recommended for high altitude, Arctic and Antarctic weather monitoring. The WindObserver 90 is ideal for measuring high wind speeds, up to 100m/s (224mph), in extreme weather conditions, eg typhoons and hurricanes.

The new WindObservers are currently being approved by the Lloyd's Register of London.

Meteorological TFT Wind Speed & Direction Display

The Meteorological TFT Wind Display has been designed to operate with the WindObserver and WindSonic wind sensors, using the wind sensors NMEA output..The display will provide the power supply for the wind sensor and can be "daisy chained" to a second wind display, or other logging equipment, to transfer wind sensor information. The display is user configurable and can provide wind speed in mph, m/s, knots, Km/h and Beaufort. Power supply can be configured to suit the customer specific requirements.

WindMaster 3D Ultrasonic Anemometer

The WindMaster 3D ultrasonic anemometer will monitor wind speeds up to 65m/s (145mph), providing digital outputs for U, V, and W vectors, sonic temperature and speed of sound values. Analogue Outputs are also available with relevant options. The WindMasters are constructed from Aluminium and Carbon Fibre, or Stainless Steel, with an IP65 rating. 20Hz, 32Hz sample rates and configurable output rate. A right angled version is available to allow for more precise placement for unique installations requirements and the HS version provides a minimal disruption for vertical flow analysis with improved anemometer geometry.
