Serial Devices

The DigiRail Modules are a set of small DIN Rail mounted acquisition modules that will accept a range of different inputs. Specific units can be configured to accept mA, V, mV, PT100, Thermocouple or digital pulse inputs, plus one unit provides 2 relay outputs. The unit will connect to a ModBus RTU network and allow the integration of analogue or digital signals to your network. This makes these units ideal for adding additional inputs, or relay outputs to a SCADA or PLC system. The DigiRail modules can also be added to Modbus units to allow for an expanded number of inputs. The DigiRails are supplied with DigiConfig software to allow easy configuration and reconfiguration for different inputs.

Serial to Ethernet converters. The NPort DE-211 is a 1-port serial device servers that support RS-232, RS-422, 4-wire RS-485, and 2-wire RS-485. The DE-211 supports 10 Mbps Ethernet connections and has a DB25 female connector for the serial port. The DE-211 is ideal for applications that involve information display boards, PLCs, flow meters, gas meters, CNC machines, and biometric identification card readers.

NetPort is a plug-and-play Serial-to-Ethernet cable adaptor that enables any device or machine with a serial port, to become network and Internet-enabled in an instant. The external NetPort adaptor features an integrated web server, allowing any device to which it is attached to be contacted and monitored via a standard Internet browser. TCP/IP protocol stacks are embedded into the NetPort, enabling it to operate within non-PC environments and the adaptor features a Modem Emulation Mode, allowing it to behave like a modem but communicate over TCP/IP. NetPort is a product which can be integrated into a system with minimal set-up, a configuration utility is provided which allows quick and easy customisation to suit any network or serial device.

The USB-i485 module is a cost-effective way to convert RS485 or RS422 industrial buses to a USB interface. When connected to a PC USB port the USB-i485 module is automatically detected and is installed as a native COM port which is compatible with any existing serial communication application. Muliple modules can be installed when using USB hubs thus allowing a hassle-free configuration of a multi serial system without any IRQ or DMA configuration. 1500 vDC isolation between the USB port and RS485/RS422 protects the PC from spikes or possible misconnections in the communication bus.
