An Electromagnetic flow meter (Magmeter or Magnetic flow meter) is a volumetric flow meter that uses Faraday's Law to measure the flow of conductive fluids passing the sensors. This means these meters are ideal for the flow measurement of any conductive, or water based, liquids and the absence of any moving parts makes these type of meters ideal in wastewater applications and were low pressure drop and low maintenance are required. These meters do not work with non-conductive fluids, eg distilled water, hydrocarbons or many non-aqueous solutions.

The M921 is designed to measure, indicate and record the instantaneous and total flow of the conductive media flowing past the sensor. The flow meter has no moving parts in the flow profile and can be used with any conductive liquid, even in extremely dirty flows containing solid materials. The flow meter will record both forward and reverse flows. The M921 is equipped with 6, user configurable, standard isolated outputs: 4-20mA either active or passive, frequency output, impulse output, status output (with relay), RS485 and USB/RS232 output. The additional features include temperature measurements, pipe and electronics self diagnostics, a RS485 Modbus output, improved operating ranges and accuracy of 0.25%. The unit covers pipe diameters of 15 - 800mm with hard rubber or PTFE linings. Options available for 12vDC, 24vDC, 48vDC and mains power supplies.
The M921 is an updated version of the MAG920 electromagnetic flow meter.
