DUT-E 2 BIO Fuel Level Sensors

The DUT-E 2 Bio Fuel Level Sensor is designed for precision fuel level measurement in tanks of vehicles, trucks, tractors, road-building machinery, fixed installations regardless of the variety of fuel or chemical composition of fuel. This makes the sensor ideal for Biodiesel, or for monitoring fuel tanks on vehicles that can fill up with fuel from various sources in different countries. The sensor incorporates a third electrode to allow for the sensor to compensate for the dielectric constant of different fuels. Allowing for the automatic correction when refueling biodiesel to diesel, or a different mixture of biodiesel. Probe lengths are available in 700 and 1000mm lengths, but can be reduced by up to 30% without the need of any re-calibration. Output options for CANBus, Modbus, voltage, frequency or 4-20mA.

Details

The DUT-E 2Bio is specially designed for fuel tanks, which can be regularly filled with different fuel types. This is especially useful for vehicles, which are using biodiesel from multiple sources or travelling through several countries and also for tanks used for transporting fuel. It can also be used to prevent fuel being siphoned off and then replaced with other cheaper fuels or fluids.

DUT-E 2Bio sensor will automatically detect a change in the fuel when refueling takes place and adjust the output to compensate for the different properties of the fuel. This feature ensures the sensors provides an accurate output for the fuel level and can even allow for an indirect fuel quality evaluation.

Producers of biodiesel can use different fats and oils, sourced from vegetable or animal fats, to create Methanol or Ethanol and they can affect the properties of the resultant biodiesel. Manufacturer additives to improve combustion, lower storage temperatures, etc, can also change the permittivity coefficient value, which can create errors in other fuel level sensors.
