LIPS S125 Submersible Linear Position Sensor

Quick Overview

The S125 LIPS® (Linear Inductive Position Sensor) is an affordable, durable, high-accuracy position sensor designed for arduous underwater hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder position feedback applications. The S125 will provide a linear output proportional to travel. Each unit is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, any stroke from 0-5mm to 0-800mm and with full EMC protection built in. The sensor is very robust, the body and push rod are made from 316 stainless steel with options of body clamps, capacitive, or free, push rod with an M8 female thread or M8 stainless rod eye. Environmental sealing is to IP68 350 Bar. The maximum system pressure is limited to 350 Bar (Water pressure plus hydraulic pressure).

Details

The S125 is a high pressure version of the S115 sensor with a larger electronics housing and wet mate high pressure connector. The S125 is sealed for continual submersion up to 3,500m depth. The unit is compact, space-efficient and responsive along almost its entire length. The sensor will provide a linear output proportional to displacement. Each sensor is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, our standard range covers any measurement range from 0-5mm to 0-800mm. As with all of our packaged sensors full EMC protection is built in.

The sensor is very robust, the body and push rod are made of 316 stainless steel for long service life and environmental resistance. The sensor is easy to install using body clamps. The push rod are made from 316 stainless steel, available as capacitive, or free, with an M8 female thread or M8 stainless rod eye. The S125 also offers a wide range of electrical options via a MCBH-4M wet mateable 4-pin connection with 0.5m tails. Different mating connectors and longer cable lengths are available on request.
