LIPS S120 Submersible Cylinder Linear Position Sensor

Quick Overview

The S120 LIPS® (Linear Inductive Position Sensor) is an affordable, durable, high-accuracy position sensor designed for arduous underwater hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder position feedback applications. The S120 will provide a linear output proportional to travel. Each unit is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, any stroke from 0-5mm to 0-800mm and with full EMC protection built in. The sensor is very rugged, being made of stainless steel with an inert fluoropolymer sheathed probe with a stainless steel target tube.The sensor is easy to install in cylinders and has a wide range of mechanical and electrical options. Environmental sealing is to IP68 350 Bar. The maximum system pressure is limited to 350 Bar (Water pressure plus hydraulic pressure).

Details

The S120 is a submersible version of the P100 cylinder sensor with a larger electronics housing and wet mate high pressure connector. The S120 is sealed for a maximum of 350bar combined hydraulic and water pressure. The unit is compact, space-efficient and responsive along almost its entire length. The sensor will provide a linear output proportional to displacement. Each sensor is supplied with the output calibrated to the travel required by the customer, our standard range covers any measurement range from 0-5mm to 0-800mm. As with all of our packaged sensors full EMC protection is built in.

The sensor is very robust, the body and target tube are made of 316 stainless steel for long service life and environmental resistance. The sensor is easy to install with M18 or 3/4" UNF mounting thread options. The target tube can be supplied plain or with a variety of flanges. The S120 also offers a wide range of electrical options via a MCBH-4M wet mateable 4-pin connection with 0.5m tails. Different mating connectors and longer cable lengths are available on request.
