The CMP21 uses the same sensing element as the CMP10 but has individually optimized temperature compensation with a 10K thermistor (PT100 Option) sensor is fitted to monitor the housing temperature. The two high quality concentric domes, 2 mm thick, reduce directional error and improve thermal isolation; The radiometric leveling is more accurate with the integral bubble level raised to the top of the housing and viewable without removing the sun shield. Also the CMP21 has a screw-in drying cartridge that allows the desiccant to be replaced. The sensing element is coated with a highly stable carbon based non organic coating, which delivers excellent spectral absorption and long term stability characteristics.
The CMP21 Pyranometer is a spectrally flat class A pyranometer that is fully compliant with ISO 9060:2018 Spectrally Flat Class A specification. The CMP21 is the ideal choice for scientific use and in top level solar radiation monitoring networks such as the Baseline Surface Radiation Networks (BSRN) and Globabl Atmospheric Watch (GAW) of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO). Units are supplied with a comprehensive, traceable calibration certificate, including its own temperature and directional (cosine) response Data and a 5 year warranty from Kipp & Zonen.
The integral bubble level is raised to the top of the housing and can be viewed without removing the redesigned snap-on sun shield, which also covers the connector. The connector is a water proof socket fitted with the signature yellow signal cable and has gold-plated contacts allows for easy exchange and re-calibration. The signal cable is available in 10, 25 and 50m lengths.
