PR 5335 2-Wire Transmitter with HART 5 Protocol

The PR 5335 is a universal 2-wire temperature transmitter with embedded HART 5 protocol, offering a powerful combination of analogue and digital communication. It is designed to convert a wide range of inputs—including RTD, thermocouple, linear resistance, and bipolar mV signals—into a standard 4-20mA output. The HART 5 protocol is superimposed on this signal, allowing for remote configuration, calibration, and diagnostics using a HART-compatible host or handheld communicator. This provides the dual benefits of reliable analogue process control and the enhanced data access and management of digital communication. The PR 5335 is an excellent solution for upgrading existing installations or implementing new systems that require both analogue and digital communication.

Description

Applications

  • Linearised temperature measurement with PT100/1000, Ni100/1000, or TC sensor.
  • Difference or average temperature measurement of 2 resistance or TC sensors.
  • Conversion of linear resistance variation to a standard analogue current signal, for instance from valves or Ohmic level sensors.
  • Amplification of a bipolar mV signal to a standard 4-20 mA current signal.
  • Connection of up to 15 transmitters to a digital 2-wire signal with HART® communication.

Features

  • RTD, TC, Ohm, or mV input
  • Galvanic isolation
  • For DIN form B sensor head mounting
  • Extremely high measurement accuracy
  • HART® communication

HART Protocol

The HART protocol provides a uniquely backward compatible solution for instrument communication as both 4-20 mA analog and digital communication signals are transmitted simultaneously on the same wiring. The Loop Link Programming Kit can configure the individual transmitters for multidrop mode and provide it with a unique polling address. HART provides many benefits promised by fieldbus, while retaining the compatibility and familiarity of existing 4-20 mA systems.
