Calibrating and adjusting your Rotronic humidity probes on-site is straightforward when using Rotronic humidity standards, the calibration device designed for the specific Rotronic probes.

How Rotronic Calibration Devices Work

Rotronic calibration devices feature small, airtight chambers meticulously designed to fit a specific set of probe diameters, including 5 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, and 25 mm models, plus the device for the sword probe and WP-14 chamber for water activity probes.

To perform a calibration:

1. Prepare the Chamber: Ensure the chamber is clean and dry. Pour the liquid humidity standard onto the absorbent textile pad inside the device’s screw-on lower lid, or placed in the bottom of the water activity device.
2. Insert the probe: Each calibration device has access to insert and seal the probe to the device.
3. Stabilise: Once sealed, the environment inside the chamber stabilises to generate the exact specified humidity level. (Note: Higher humidity values naturally require a longer stabilisation period).
4. Calibrate: Use the HygroSoft software to read the probe in the chamber to compare its readings against the precise reference value of the humidity standard, allowing you to easily calibrate or adjust the device via the software. Probe validation can be done using the usual device to simply display the readings match the humidity standard.
