PR 5334 2-Wire Programmable Transmitter - Image 2

PR 5334 2-Wire Programmable Transmitter

The PR 5334 is a 2-wire transmitter designed for precise thermocouple and mV signal conversion, making it a perfect fit for a variety of specific applications. Its ability to accept both thermocouple temperature inputs and mV signals in a single, compact unit makes it uniquely suited for solar panel monitoring, where it can handle both pyranometer output and ambient temperature measurements using thermocouples. With integrated galvanic isolation, high measurement accuracy, and NAMUR NE43/NE21 sensor error detection, the 5334 ensures reliable and robust performance. Its PC-programmable interface allows for simple configuration, providing a streamlined and effective solution for dedicated measurement tasks in critical environments.

PR 5334B 2-Wire Programmable Transmitter

  • Description

Description

The PR 5334 is a 2-wire transmitter designed for the precise measurement of low-level voltage and thermocouple signals. The PR 5334 can converting signals from thermocouples and low range mV inputs to a standard 4-20mA output. This makes it an ideal choice for specific applications, such as solar panel monitoring, where it can handle both pyranometer signals (mV) and ambient or panel temperature measurements (via thermocouple).

Dedicated Input Capability

  • Linearised Thermocouple Measurement: Types B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U, W3, W5 or LR Thermocouples to a standard 4-20mA output.
  • mV Signal Amplification: Amplify low-level bipolar mV signals to the standard 4-20 mA output, perfect for pyranometers, pressure transducers, etc.

Features

  • Specialised and Cost-Effective: By focusing solely on mV and thermocouple inputs, the PR 5334 offers a high-performance solution at a lower cost than a universal transmitter. It’s an intelligent choice for large-scale projects or applications where you don’t require the added functionality of a universal device.
  • High Measurement Accuracy: With an accuracy of better than 0.05% of the selected range, the PR 5334 provides trustworthy readings for critical process control, particularly in high-precision applications like pharmaceutical or laboratory environments.
  • Galvanic Isolation (1.5 kVAC): Protects both the transmitter and your control system from ground loops and electrical noise, ensuring a clean and reliable signal in electrically harsh environments.
  • PC-Programmable: Configuration is fast and easy using the same intuitive PR 5909 Loop Link communications interface. Set up the unit in minutes, not hours, for any application, or adjust for new sensor installation.
  • Sensor Error Detection (NAMUR NE43): The unit continuously monitors for sensor failures (e.g., short or open circuits). You can program the output to a specific fail-safe value (e.g., 3.5mA or 23mA) to provide an immediate and clear alert to operators.
  • Durable & Compact Design: Designed for DIN form B sensor head mounting, its compact size fits easily into standard enclosures, while its robust construction ensures long-term reliability.
  • 5 Year Warranty: 5 Year Warranty on all Omni Instruments Supplied PR 5334 Transmitters. Warranty covers defects in construction, material, or production.
