MC 4.0 Multiprobe Anemometer with Logger and Display

The MC 4.0 is suitable for determining the flow velocity, temperature and relative humidity of gaseous and liquid media. The measurement with a vane anemometer is considered to be the most accurate of the possible measurement methods. The MC 4.0 includes an internal logger for up to 1 million readings, and options for connecting 2 sensors. As a further bonus, the periodic calibration of the MC 4.0 only requires the renewal of the measuring heads. This means that the device does not need to be sent in as with comparable products. Vane anemometers are available with plastic sensors that can be used for non-aggressive gases or liquids and Steel sensors suitable for use in aggressive media or higher temperature ranges.

The MC 4.0 is the replacement for the MC20 display.

MC 4.0 Multiprobe Anemometer Display

Description

The MC 4.0 is available in 5 different versions, with options for lemo connectors for vane anemometers, touchscreen or the larger 4,000mAh battery. Units feature an internal datalogger and additional measuring channels, There are also additional modules available to allow for humidity, differential pressure to be connected to the unit.

MC 4.0 units with the Lemo connector option can be used with any of the MiniAir 20 vane anemometers to monitor air or surface water flows. With the appropriate modules, ThermoAir, differential pressure or humidity probes can also be connected..

Vane anemometers can be swapped on site and will automatically adjust to the connected sensors. The vane anemometers for air flows come in three different sizes: Micro; Mini; and Macro, with two different flow ranges available for each: 0-20ms; and 0-40m/s. The individual probes include a synthetic plastic construction snap head with a metal turbine that generates a frequency output each time the metal blade passes the probe handle. The frequency of rotation is virtually proportional to the air-flow velocity and largely independent of pressure, temperature, density and humidity. Probes are available with either Aluminium or Steel vane and handles. The Aluminium probes are suitable for non-aggressive gases. Steel probes are available for aggressive environments or higher temperature environments.

MiniWater probes are available in the Micro and Mini sizes with ranges of 5m/s and 10m/s. Short extension rods can be fitted to these probes to allow for measuring flow velocities from the river bank, or bridge over the river

Snap-Head Replacement

The snap-head fixing system renders it very simple to fit a new impeller to the flow probe: this saves costly non-productive time and in the event of damage to the snap-head enables you to have the probe back in service in a matter of seconds by simply changing the snap-head.

Every MiniAir probes generate a pulse each time a vane blade passes the probe handle and the MC 4.0 display converts the output to a flow velocity. Each snap head and probe handle are paired and any replacement snap head should be of the same original size and flow range. Fitting an incorrect snap head will not match the probe handle and therefore not provide an accurate output to the MC 4.0.

Please note, MiniAir anemometers with fully Steel measuring heads are screwed to the shaft and are not replaceable.
