Modbus RTU Sensors

This advanced range of industrial sensors utilises the industry-standard Modbus RTU protocol over an RS485 serial interface to deliver high-precision environmental and electrical telemetry. Unlike simple digital switch sensors, these intelligent devices output fully digitised, factory-calibrated numerical measurements. They integrate seamlessly with third-party PLCs, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Teracom’s own telemetry controllers, making them ideal for precise data acquisition and automation. The Modbus RTU lineup is optimised for scalable deployment and covers a diverse set of monitoring applications:

  • Multi-Drop Scalability (Daisy-Chaining): Thanks to the RS485 architecture, up to 32 (and on some models up to 247) unique sensors can be chained together on a single data bus line. Many models feature dual RJ45 ports, allowing you to quickly link multiple sensors in series using standard, low-cost UTP network cabling.
  • Precision Environmental Mapping: High-accuracy temperature and relative humidity modules (such as the TST300 and TSH300) provide granular, stable data with up to 12-bit resolution, essential for data centres, pharmaceutical storage, and server rooms.
  • Specialised Industrial Telemetry: Beyond basic climate tracking, the range includes specialised Modbus hardware like multi-channel thermocouple modules, AC voltage transducers, barometric pressure sensors, and digital S0 pulse counters for industrial sub-metering.
By transmitting rich, multi-variable data over a shared bus, Teracom Modbus RTU sensors minimise wiring infrastructure while providing the robust, long-term stability required for modern automation and process control.

The TST300 is a Modbus RTU Temperature Sensor, designed for accurate monitoring of temperatures in the range of -20 to +60°C. Up to 32 sensors can be connected back to a Modbus Master device. It features two RJ45 connectors for easy daisy-chaining on an RS485 Modbus, making it a robust solution for industrial temperature sensing.
