GL260 Data Logger

GL260 Midi Logger

The Graphtec GL260 is an ultra-compact, standalone data logger equipped with 10 fully isolated multi-function channels designed to measure voltage, temperature, humidity, logic, and pulse signals simultaneously. Operating with a high-resolution 4.3-inch colour TFT display and an upgraded 8 GB internal flash memory, it provides precise data acquisition directly in the field without requiring a PC connection. The instrument functions fundamentally as a rugged, grab-and-go diagnostic tool that protects sensitive inputs from ground loops and channel-to-channel signal interference.

What the GL260 offers that similar products don’t is its exceptional balance of absolute galvanic isolation and localised processing power in a palm-sized form factor. While most compact loggers compromise on safety by sharing grounds across channels or require external memory expansion to function, the GL260 delivers 10 completely isolated channels and integrated ring-memory logging natively, ensuring secure and continuous data capture even in high-noise electrical environments.

Features

  • 10 Fully Isolated Channels: Prevents catastrophic ground loops and channel-to-channel cross-talk, allowing safe, concurrent tracking of mixed signals.
  • Multi-Function Inputs: Accommodates voltage, humidity, and a wide array of thermocouple types directly on the same screw-terminal block without requiring separate input modules.
  • Enhanced 8 GB Internal Storage: Provides massive built-in capacity for long-term data logging, eliminating the absolute necessity of external SD cards for standard field operations.
  • Fast 10 ms Sampling Rate: Delivers high-speed scanning intervals down to 10 ms for a single channel, allowing accurate tracing of rapid DC voltage fluctuations.
  • Wireless Network Expandability: Supports an optional SD-card slot Wireless LAN module (B-568) to enable remote web browser monitoring, FTP data transfers, and seamless cloud connectivity.

Applications

Monitoring battery cell voltages and thermal profiles during charging cycles with isolated protection up to 110V peak.
Real-time logging of 4-20mA process signals (via shunt resistors) and voltage outputs from PLC systems.
Long-term climate monitoring in greenhouses or hydroponic facilities using the B-530 sensor and wireless data backup.
Multi-point temperature mapping and energy consumption analysis for commercial air handling and heating systems.
Thermal stability testing for cold storage and stability chambers requiring high-accuracy thermocouple inputs.
High-speed 10ms sampling of transient voltage events and performance testing of consumer electronics.

Frequently Asked Questions

â–¶ Q: Why can't I select the 10 ms sampling speed when using all 10 channels?
A: The GL260’s internal processing bandwidth dictates a strict relationship between sampling intervals and active channel counts. High-speed scanning restricts channel usage: a 10 ms interval limits you to 1 active channel, 20 ms allows up to 2 channels, and 50 ms allows up to 5 channels. To log data across all 10 channels simultaneously, you must set the sampling interval to 100 ms or slower.
â–¶ Q: Can the GL260 measure humidity directly out of the box?
A: No. While the GL260 has internal scaling software to calculate and display relative humidity percentages, it lacks a built-in humidity sensor. To capture humidity data, you must purchase the optional Graphtec B-530 humidity sensor, which connects directly to the analogue input terminal and is powered by the logger's 5 V output line.
â–¶ Q: What is the maximum voltage I can safely apply to a GL260 input channel?
A: The GL260 features input ranges up to 100 V, but its maximum safe input voltage between positive and negative terminals is 60 Vp-p on ranges above 5 V. Furthermore, the maximum withstand voltage between any input channel and the chassis ground is 350 Vp-p for 1 minute. Exceeding these limits risks destroying the logger’s solid-state isolation relays.
â–¶ Q: How long can the GL260 run continuously on its internal battery pack?
A: Using a single optional B-569 rechargeable battery pack, the GL260 will operate continuously for approximately 5 hours under standard operating conditions (assuming a 1-second sampling interval with the LCD screen saver active). The battery charges completely in roughly 4 hours when the unit is turned off and connected to AC power via the supplied adapter.
â–¶ Q: Can I save data directly to a computer in real-time instead of using the internal flash memory?
A: Yes. By connecting the GL260 to a PC via the built-in USB 2.0 port, you can use the bundled APS (APS Logger) software to stream, view, and record data directly to your computer's hard drive in real time. Alternatively, if you install the optional B-568 Wireless LAN unit, you can stream data wirelessly over a local network via FTP or log it directly into Graphtec’s cloud architecture.
