Kipp & Zonen produces the widest range available of radiometers for the measurement of solar and sky radiation. The solar instruments portfolio covers the spectrum from the Ultraviolet (UV) to the Far Infrared (FIR) and as integrated net radiometers. The instruments fully comply with World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and ISO requirements where applicable. There are also the Lite™ range of low-cost sensors and a sunshine duration meter.
Two similar pyranometers are mounted horizontally, to measure incoming and reflected irradiances in W/m². The ratio of the two is the albedo of the surface below.
DustIQ monitors the loss of light transmission caused by dust, sand, pollen, or any other particles on PV panels using Kipp & Zonen’s new and innovative Optical Soiling Measurement (OSM) technology.
Data Loggers designed specifically for recording the outputs of Kipp & Zonen sensors
Net radiometers that do not require power to operate. A mounting rod, bubble level and calibration certificate are always included.
SP-Lite and CMP series pyranometers are well known around the world for their high quality, durability and accuracy. The newly developed SMP series use the technology from the CMP series, but add an RS485 Modbus output and amplified 0-10V or 4-20mA signal.
Pyrgeometers use silicon windows to transmit infrared radiation and these have an internal thin film coating that blocks short-wave solar radiation from reaching the broadband thermopile detector.
The rugged housing of RT1 simply fits to the corner of a PV panel and contains the digital electronics. It also houses a sensor that reliably measures the incoming plane of array solar irradiance. The plug-in temperature sensor is easily attached to the back of the panel. RT1 is the perfect solution for monitoring the efficiency of commercial rooftop PV installations.
Kipp & Zonen designed the CSD 3 Sunshine Duration Sensor to replace the subjective Campbell-Stokes recorder. It is engineered for continuous outdoor use and is easy to install and service. Making Sunshine duration monitoring much more accurate than checking burn marks on a card that may have been damp or incorrectly filed.
Sun trackers are widely used in networks of solar monitoring stations that measure direct, diuse and global radiation, for inputs to weather forecasting and climate models. Other applications include atmospheric chemistry research, pollution forecasting and materials testing.
CUV5 and SUV radiometers are designed and calibrated to measure global ultraviolet (UV) solar irradiance.
