ThermoAir 20 Omni-Directional Hot Wire Anemometer

The ThermoAir 20 Omni-Directional Hot Wire Anemometer is wind sensor suitable for monitoring very low air flows. The Hot Wire Anemometer is able to detect much lower air flow velocities than vane anemometer and probes are available with velocity range of 0-1m/s and 0-5m/s. Providing a clear low flow value to be viewed on the MC 4.0 handheld display. The omni-directional ThermoAir 20 anemometers enclose the sensor inside a protective cage that ensures it can take air flow readings from any direction. Helping to ensure that even the lightest draft can be picked up, even if you don’t know which direction it is coming from. Ideal for use in open air, or clean air environments, eg nursing homes or public buildings.

Description

The key benefit of the ThermoAir 20 Omni-directional probes are significantly easier and faster to deploy for area-based measurements, as the operator does not need to waste time aligning the probe to the perceived direction of the flow. For tasks like checking the average air speed across a ventilation grille or mapping the velocity profile of a large room, the omni-directional probe simply needs to be placed at the measurement point.

This feature is particularly valuable for comfort testing and validating ventilation standards in occupied areas, like within a cubicle farm or near hospital beds. These instruments are often used for taking numerous measurements across a fixed grid to calculate an area-averaged air velocity, which is a key parameter for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and thermal comfort assessments. The portable handheld ThermoAir 20 display simplifies the measurement process saving time and reducing the margin of error associated with improper directional alignment across dozens of measurement points.

Features

  • Modular concept allows a single instrument to adapt to various different applications.
  • 3.2″ display with button operation, plus option for touchscreen display
  • MC 4.0 ThermoAir are supplied with removable rubber case in red.
  • Minimum, Maximum and Average values continuously selectable
  • Measurement rate of 2 Secs.
  • Internal logger with 1 million reading capacity in 4GB storage
  • Extramodules are available to convert the MC 4.0 display to accept MiniAir 20 Probes and differential pressure tubing.
