Description
The Tango TX2 Gas Detector represents an evolution of the Tango TX1, offering enhanced safety by providing simultaneous two-gas detection within a single, compact device. Unlike the TX1, which focuses on a single gas, the TX2 incorporates individual sensors for two distinct gases. Those gases are CO, H2S, NO2 and SO2. This eliminates the need for workers to carry multiple monitors, simplifying fleet management and improving compliance. It retains the TX1’s celebrated features, including a two-year replaceable battery life, robust durability, loud alarms, and compatibility with docking stations for easy maintenance, all backed by a “Guaranteed for Life” warranty. This makes the Tango TX2 Gas Detector is an ideal solution for environments with multiple gas hazards, like those listed below:
- Oil and Gas: Both upstream and downstream operations are susceptible to H2S and CO exposure.
- Wastewater Treatment: H2S is a significant concern due to anaerobic decomposition, while CO can also be present from equipment.
- Manufacturing and Chemical Plants: Depending on the processes, any of these four gases could be a byproduct or used in production.
- Construction: Combustion from machinery can produce CO and NO2.
- Confined Spaces: Many confined spaces can accumulate dangerous levels of CO, H2S, or other toxic gases.
- Power Generation: Burning of fossil fuels can release SO2, NO2 and CO.

The Tango TX2 offers a specialised CO/H2 low sensors to provide more accurate CO readings in environments where the presence of Hydrogen may cause higher reading due to the CO sensors cross-sensitivity. With a standard CO cell in the Tango TX2, 100 ppm of H2 would typically result in an additional 22 ppm CO reading, whereas the specialised CO/H2 Low sensor would show 5 ppm or less of CO under the same H2 exposure.
