Rutland 505 Windcharger

The Rutland 505 Windcharger is ideal for trickle charging battery banks of up to 100Ah. It is ideal for use in off-grid remote monitoring systems to provide a constant charge to the batteries. The Rutland 505 model has been designed with a 20% higher power output than the Rutland 504 with a number of enhancements including a more efficient power generator and improved furling to optimise power generation whilst protecting the turbine and tower from damage during storm force winds.

Rutland 505 Wind Charger

  • Description

Description

Features

  • Low wind speed start up of just 5 knots
  • Generates 26w @ 21 knots, 60W @ 29 knots
  • Delivers up to 100W
  • Three phase Rutland “unique” generator design
  • Turbine are made from computer designed efficient aerofoil blades.
  • A sharper nose dome to improve the flow of wind to the turbine.
  • Long tail fin to improve the orientation of the turbine to wind and maintain stability.
  • High grade body and nose material with improved UV stability and durability.
  • No radiated interference – complies with EEC directive 89/336/EEC

The Rutland 505 “e-furl” Windcharger includes enhanced wind tracking for maximum efficiency, which combined with a more efficient generator design, provides 20% higher energy output that the Rutland 504. It is suitable for land, or marine, based applications, with mounting kits available for land and marine mounting. When activated the “e-furl” puts the turbine through a cycle of slowing down and speeding up periodically thus reducing the stresses on the turbine and tower. When storm winds are forecast and where possible the turbine can be restrained to minimise wear and tear. When structural damage to properties etc is forecast the turbine must be restrained.
