Description

The PR 5450 is a sophisticated and versatile Profibus PA temperature transmitter, engineered for the most demanding process control environments. It integrates seamlessly into modern digital bus communication networks while offering the same wide range of input types as a universal transmitter. Profibus Communication & Universal Input

  • PROFIBUS PA Profile 4.0: The 5450 is designed for seamless integration into Profibus PA networks, replacing the traditional 4-20mA signals with a robust digital communication protocol.
  • Universal Input: This unit accepts signals from a wide array of sensors, including RTDs (PT100, PT1000, Ni100), Thermocouples (Types B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U, W3, W5, LR), linear resistance, potentiometers, and bipolar mV signals. This universal capability simplifies stock control and reduces spare parts inventory.

  • True Dual Input & Sensor Redundancy: With its high-density 7-terminal design, the PR 5450 offers true dual-input capability. This allows for sensor redundancy, ensuring uninterrupted operation and providing a crucial safety net in critical applications.

Profibus PA

Profibus PA is the Profibus solution for process automation. Profibus PA connects automation systems and process control systems with field devices such as pressure, temperature and level transmitters. Profibus PA can be used as a substitute for the analogue 4 to 20mA technology. Profibus PA achieves cost savings of over 40% in planning, cabling, commissioning and maintenance and offers a significant increase in functionality and security.
