Description
The Wireless Temperature & Relative Humidity Monitoring System
The GEN II wireless data logging system combines exceptional performance and stylish products ideally suited for a wide range of applications and installations. The system is also ideal for short and long term projects. Since no cables are used there is a great deal of freedom to change the placing of sensors or move the complete system to another site, as and when your requirements change. Transmitters can easily installed and can be placed anywhere and easily redeployed as necessary.
The GENII transmitters connect to the receiver units by means of a 434MHz radio link. The 434MHz UHF band is licence exempt in most countries, making this a very cost effective and practical alternative to wired or cabled-in systems. Sensors and their associated radio transmitters are simply placed or permanently fitted as required once a radio connection has been established.
Radio lends itself ideally to installations where communications across a river, road or even just a large site need to be established quickly and effectively. Using high specification radio means a range of several kilometers, reducing to several hundred meters in difficult environments (such as a brick or stone building or one containing considerable steel work).
Transmitter units are available with integrated temperature and/or relative humidity sensors to allow units to be placed in the required locations. Transmitters are also available with sockets suitable for connecting external thermistor, thermocouples (K, T, N & R Type) and PT100 temperature probes. Transmitters are battery operated using off the shelf batteries providing up to 2 years operation.
The GEN II system has three options for receiver units.
- The WSR receiver units are able to receiver temperature and humidity readings for up to 16 channels and provide a scaled 0-5V or 4-20mA analogue output.
- The RC250 receiver units can read up to 160 active channels and provide a Modbus RTU output.
- The RX250-AL receiver units can handle up to 250 channels from 125 transmitters and log the readings in its internal memory (up to 2 million readings).
The receiver unit allow data to be connected directly to a PC, Modbus network, Ethernet or via a GSM/GPRS modem. Receiver units include an internal battery to provide back up for power failures. Multiple receiver units can be used in the same location and each unit can log the readings from specific transmitters, whilst ignoring others. Transmitters can be read by more than one receiver unit allowing readings to connect to a Modbus network and be logged or retransmitted by each receiver.
Features
- Extremely flexible system
- Licence exempt radio frequency – 434MHz.
- Easy Installation of permanent or temporary systems
- Real time metering
- Standalone operation
- Easily adapted or expanded
- 250 sensors across 125 transmitters can be logged
