3100 Slim Series of 6mm Temperature Transmitters

The Slim Series is a range of 6mm isolators and signal converters suitable for use with K & J Type thermocouples and PT100 temperature sensors. Programming is achieved via selectable DIP switches allowing changes to output and temperature ranges. The series includes HART 7 protocol units for integrating PT100 and thermocouples into a HART system. All units are ATEX approved for Zone 2 environments, including the power rail and power control units.

Applications

The 3100 series is ideal for the conversion and/or isolation of inputs from K & J Type Thermocouples plus 2-, 3- or 4-wire PT100 temperature sensors into 4-20mA outputs. All units are suitable for installation in Hazardous Zone 2 areas, including power rails and control units.

  • Space-saving design. At only 6 mm wide and can be mounted next to
    each other, permitting up to 330 channels per metre.
  • Flexible supply voltage 24 VDC ±30%.
  • The devices are vibration-tested via DNV and GL approvals and can be retained on the rail with the 9403 module stop.
  • 9400 Power Rail and 3405 Power Connector unit will provide power to up to 100 units with up to 2.5A.
  • 3405 Power Connector unit can provide a power supply to sensors from the Power Rail.
  • All units are suitable for ATEX Zone 2 Environments

Power Supply Options


The 3100 Slim Series units can be supplied in various different ways:-

  1. One unit can be connected to suitable 24vDC ±30% power supply and then looped to up to 130 additional units, max 2.5A.
  2. One unit can be connected to a suitable 24vDC ±30% power supply and mounted on to the 9400 Power Rail to distribute power to up to 20 units, max 0.4A
  3. The 3405 Power Connector Unit can be connected to a suitable 24vDC ±30% power supply and then to the 9400 Power Rail to distributor power to up to 100 units, max 2.5A.
  4. The 9410 Power Connector Unit can be connected to a suitable 24vDC ±30% power supply (plus a secondary back-up power supply) and then to the 9400 Power Rail to distributor power to up to 200 units, max 4A.
  5. Loop-powered units are powered directly from the 4-20mA signal.

All devices are ATEX Approved and can safely be used in a safe area, or in ATEX Zone 2 environments.
