Oldham provides high-performance area monitoring solutions that bridge the gap between portable safety and permanent fixed systems. By leveraging advanced wireless networking, these devices allow for rapid deployment in temporary work zones, perimeter monitoring, and large-scale industrial turnarounds.
The BM25 is a rugged, transportable multi-gas monitor that has long served as the benchmark for mobile area protection. Designed to withstand the harshest environments, it can monitor up to five gases simultaneously with an autonomous runtime of up to 170 hours. Its key features include:
360° Visual & Audible Alarms: Equipped with an ultra-bright LED beacon and a 103 dB siren to ensure all personnel in the vicinity are alerted.
Mesh Radio Networking: In its wireless configuration (BM25W), multiple units can form a self-healing mesh network. If one unit detects gas, all units in the network can trigger a “transfer alarm” to notify the entire site.
Intrinsically Safe Power: For long-term projects, the BM25 can be connected to an intrinsically safe trickle charger, providing continuous operation in hazardous zones.
BM25 Area Gas Detectors supplied by Omni Instruments are available in the section linked below:
The BM25A/AW is a portable areas gas detector utilising diffusion or sample draw. The BM25A/AW packs the benefits of a fixed-system area monitor into an easily transportable, yet rugged instrument. Designed for team protection or area surveillance, the unit is most suitable for perimeter monitoring, rig overhauls, and mobile or short-term work in areas where fixed detection systems are not suitable. The BM25AW features a wireless option using a 2.4GHz RF signal to transfer alarm and fault detection over a wireless mesh network. The Wireless signal uses a Mesh system to allow each unit to operate as a node able to receive, send and relay data to any other BM25AW unit, or control unit in range. Hazardous Area Approved
The MX40 controller was designed to centralize the information transmitted by the BX 25 over a wireless network and can display up to 32 measurements in real time. When a BM 25 signals an alarm, the MX 40 also goes into alarm mode and can, for example, control internal relays and order other monitors to transmit the alarm as well.
The BM25 gas detectors include field replaceable, plug-in sensors. The user can replace any sensor in the field and have the instrument in service after performing a simple field calibration. Up to 5 sensor can be installed, each in one or more specific location.
