Aquaprobes

The Aquaread Aquaprobe Series represents a premium range of environmental monitoring instruments engineered to deliver high-precision, multi-parameter water testing across diverse field conditions. From single-parameter screening to complex, multi-sensor deployments, these systems utilise an array of factory-installed baseline sensors—including optical dissolved oxygen, rapid-response pH/ORP, and multi-range conductivity—alongside customisable auxiliary slots. Housed in robust, hard-anodised marine-grade Aluminium, the probes are built to function seamlessly in fresh, brackish, and coastal marine environments.

What elevates the Aquaprobe series above competitive platforms is its uncompromised flexibility and physical modularity. Rather than locking users into a rigid, non-upgradable framework, Aquaread utilises a universal plug-and-play auxiliary architecture that allows both optical and chemical ion-selective electrodes (ISE) to be hot-swapped or added as project goals evolve. Backed by heavy-duty AquaConn all-metal connections and specialised data loggers, these systems bridge the gap between portable handheld spot-testing and continuous, unmanned telemetry deployments.

Key Features

  • Scalable Auxiliary Infrastructure: Offers anywhere from one to six dedicated auxiliary ports, allowing direct integration of specialised parameters such as Turbidity, Chlorophyll, Algae tracking, or targeted heavy ions.
  • Pre-Installed Optical DO Technology: Employs an advanced dynamic luminescence quenching method that requires no minimum liquid flow, eliminates delicate membranes, and delivers drift-free data for up to 2 years per cap.
  • Marine-Grade Defences: Constructed from heavy-walled, hard-anodised marine Aluminium with IP68 ratings for permanent deployment up to 30 meters or short-term deployment down to 100 meters.
  • Anti-Fouling Self-Cleaning Wiper: Select models integrate high-torque, motorised central cleaning brushes that mechanically sweep sediment and organic growth off the sensor faces, significantly lengthening deployment windows.
  • AquaConn Interconnect System: Equipped with professional, all-metal connectors featuring alignment guides and deeply recessed pins to prevent physical or electrical mating damage during harsh outdoor setups.

The Aquaprobe Lineup: Upgrades & Advantages

The Aquaprobe series scales systematically from targeted spot-meters to high-density, autonomous monitoring platforms:

  • AP-Lite: The entry-point probe designed for focused, single-parameter screening. It features a compact footprint and one open auxiliary port, letting users run any single Aquaread optical electrode without the bulk of a multi-sensor array.
  • AP-2000 & AP-2000-D: An all-in-one portable testing suite measuring baseline pH, ORP, EC, and DO simultaneously. It includes two auxiliary ports optimised for strict space savings (Aux 1 accepts an optical or ISE sensor, while Aux 2 accepts an ISE sensor exclusively). The D variant integrates a precise depth sensor for vertical column mapping.
  • AP-5000: A mid-sized profiling platform that builds on the AP-2000 baseline by upgrading to four unrestricted auxiliary sockets. Any port can host an optical or chemical electrode simultaneously, removing configuration barriers.
  • AP-6000: Engineered for medium-term deployments, this probe maintains the four unrestricted auxiliary slots of the AP-5000 but introduces an integrated, motorised central cleaning wiper. The wiper actively repels bio-fouling, protecting data integrity in stagnant or high-sediment waters.
  • AP-7000: The flagship autonomous platform built for maximum parameter density and long-term unattended monitoring. It features six unrestricted auxiliary ports and an upgraded, heavy-duty self-cleaning system, making it the premier choice for complex environmental tracking network installations.

Turnkey Field Packages & Interface Options

Every Aquaprobe is available as a complete, field-ready kit designed for immediate out-of-the-box deployment. Housed in a rugged, custom-fitted hard carry case, the packages bundle the instrument with heavy-duty deployment cables, essential calibration standards (such as RapidCal), and your choice of primary interface hardware:

  • The GPS Aquameter: An ergonomic, IP67-rated handheld display unit that provides real-time telemetry, advanced calibration wizards, and automated GPS tagging for every captured data point—simplifying spatial mapping in Google Earth or GIS software.
  • The BlueLink Bluetooth Interface: A wireless adapter made from Aluminium and carbon fibre that replaces the standard handheld meter. It houses an internal rechargeable battery and an integrated barometric pressure sensor for dynamic DO and depth calculations. Operating via the mobile BlueLink app for Android and iOS, it streams live data (in list, standard, or graph views), executes automated stability calibration checks, and manages data logging straight to your smartphone.

The range scales progressively in size, physical port capacity, and automated anti-fouling capabilities to match varying application depths and deployment durations. Review the comprehensive breakdown of individual probe specifications, available auxiliary slot allocations, and upgraded package capabilities detailed in the sections below to find the exact configuration required for your environment and requirements.

AP-LITE Platform

AP-LITE Platform

The Aquaread AP-Lite is a compact, highly portable single-parameter water quality probe designed for focused environmental screening. Housed in rugged, marine-grade Aluminium, it features a single optical socket that accepts any interchangeable Aquaread optical electrode, including Turbidity, Chlorophyll, or Optical Dissolved Oxygen. This plug-and-play system provides an efficient, single-parameter solution without the bulk of multi-sensor arrays.
