Description
Leveline-BARO Barometric Pressure Logger
The LeveLine-Baro version is designed for use above the waterline to record the atmospheric pressure data for compensating readings collected by Absolute Leveline sensors in a 10Km radius. This version offers a maximum logging rate of once per minute with a storage capacity of 150,000 records. Level data obtained from the submerged ABS logger can be automatically corrected for in the LeveLink Software. This compares the barometric pressure logged during the same period with readings collected by Absolute Leveline Sensors.
The Leveline-Baro can work independently or connected to an external logger using the telemetry extension cable, Part Number LL-EXT-TEL-AD. With this cable, the unit can be powered by 6-24vDC and provides an RS485 Modbus output, or SDI-12, at up to a 5 second interval. Contact us directly for options to collect real-time readings
Features
- Set logging rates in hours and minutes
- Produce Google Earth files, Excel files and text reports at the press of a button
- Software allows for automatic pressure compensation for Absolute Leveline sensor data
- Displays number of recordings saved in memory and the number of available data points
- Displays the remaining battery of the logger
The Leveline-BARO connects directly to a PC using the LeveLine PC Kit (Part No. LL-PC-KIT). Connect one end of the cable to the LeveLine-BARO, aligning it as shown in the image below, and the other end to a spare USB port on your PC, or laptop.
Logging can be set as fast as once a minute, or up to every five days. Every 15 minutes to 1 hour would be the normally recommended interval for barometric pressure as these tend to alter reasonably slowly, unless storm conditions are expected. In this case, an shorter event checking interval can be set, but this will reduce the battery life. If you plan to correct water pressure data logged using an ABS (absolute) type Level Logger, you should load your water pressure data into LeveLink software under the Level Logger Data tab. You should then load your associated air pressure data into LeveLink under the Baro Logger Data tab.

All LeveLine-Baro Loggers are factory calibrated at three separate pressure points across their pressure range, at two temperatures, 5°C and 25°C. The data produced by this calibration procedure is used to construct a three dimensional calibration curve (surface), which is stored in each Probe’s memory and subsequently used to automatically correct temperature and pressure readings prior to output. For optimum performance, factory re-calibration is recommended every 12-18 months, but is dependent on your own requirements. The date at which your LeveLine Logger was last calibrated is shown in the ‘LeveLine Status’ box on the Setup tab of the LeveLink PC software.
