wTunnel 2.4GHz Wireless Connection

Description

The wTunnel-5003 can be used for wireless point to point links designed to create a reliable “tunnel” for industrial or utility data over medium to long distances where traditional wired connections are impractical or too costly. They bridge the gap between field devices and a central monitoring system, often replacing leased lines or expensive temporary cabled runs.

Applications

Water and Wastewater Management (SCADA/Telemetry)

  • Remote Pumping Stations: Transmitting data on tank level limits or pump status (on/off, fault) from booster pumps or remote wells back to a central SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) server.
  • Reservoir Monitoring: Sending water level breaches from remote reservoirs or dams.
  • Valve Control: Providing a link for the central unit to remotely open or close critical control valves.

Electric Utility and Power Distribution

  • Substation Monitoring: Transmitting data for feeder automation and monitoring breaker status from remote substations.
