LEO 2 Digital Manometer

  • Description

Description

The Subsea Pressure Indicator provides a robust, high-precision solution for real-time pressure monitoring in demanding underwater environments. By integrating the industry-leading LEO 2 digital manometer within a high-clarity, clear acrylic pressure housing, this system offers unparalleled visibility for divers and ROV cameras alike. Rated for depths up to 1000 metres (100 bar), it is specifically designed to eliminate the need for complex subsea data umbilical cables, providing a standalone, battery-powered display that is as reliable in shallow-shore pipeline inspections as it is on deep-sea structural manifolds.

Engineered for accuracy and ease of use, the system features a 0.1% total error band, ensuring laboratory-grade measurements even under fluctuating subsea temperatures. The dual-display interface is a critical advantage for subsea technicians; it simultaneously shows live pressure readings alongside the maximum or minimum peak values captured during the operation. This “Peak-Hold” capability allows divers and ROV operators to provide definitive visual proof of successful hydrostatic tests or hydraulic activations, even if the peak event occurred outside of the direct observation window.

LEO2 Digital Manometer

The LEO2 is a compact, micro-processor (µP) controlled, highly accurate and versatile pressure measuring instrument with digital indication. The piezoresistive pressure transducer as the heart of the instrument has gone through extensive pressure and temperature tests. Its characteristics are stored in the instruments internal EEPROM. The µP of the LEO 2 reads the characteristic values and calculates therefrom the pressure to an accuracy of 0,1 % over the temperature range of 0…50°C.

The pressure is measured twice per second and displayed. The top display indicates the actual pressure, the bottom display shows the MAX.- or MIN- pressure since the last RESET.

LEO 2 has two operating keys. The left key is to turn the instrument on, to select the functions and the pressure units. The right key executes the selected function or unit. The right key is also used to switch between the MAX.- and MIN.-value.

Subsea Peak Value Capture: Precision Beyond the Bourdon Dial

A defining advantage of the Subsea Pressure Indicator over traditional mechanical Bourdon gauges is its integrated Peak-Hold function. While analog dials require constant monitoring to identify the exact moment a pressure spike occurs, the LEO 2 microprocessor samples pressure twice per second, automatically capturing and freezing the highest (MAX) and lowest (MIN) values in its internal memory. This data is displayed on a dedicated second line of the digital LCD, allowing divers and ROV operators to provide definitive, verifiable proof of reaching a specific hydrostatic test pressure or hydraulic activation point—even if the peak event lasted only a fraction of a second. This capability not only simplifies the “witnessing” process for subsea certifications but also significantly reduces the risk of missed data during high-stakes offshore operations.
