Pace Scientific Temperature Sensors

A selection of temperature probes designed specifically for use with the Pace Scientific XR440 & XR5 data loggers. Each probe will connect directly to the input channels and requires no external power. The XR5 will accept up to 8 probes and the XR440 up to 4. All temperature probes utilise a precision 30k Ohm thermistor and cables can be extended to over 30m without affecting the accuracy. Pace loggers will also accept thermocouples, but this requires the plug-in Thermocouple Modules (available in the ISM section).

Description

The temperature probes listed below are ideal for applications where you require accurate temperature readings in general conditions.  These probes are designed to work with Pace Scientific data loggers stated. If you are unsure of what probe you require for your specific requirements, please contact sales for further information.

 

PT907 – This is a low cost temperature sensor with an epoxy tip and PVC insulated leads (parallel bonded). Probe dimensions: 0.127″ (3.23mm) diameter, 0.37″ (9.4mm) long and 4 feet (1.2m) cable. Ideal for general temperature measurements in light applications where the probe will not be submerged in water (mineral or silicon oil is OK).

Temperature Range: -50° to 75°C (-58° to 167°F), up to 110°C possible for short periods.
Accuracy: ±0.15°C from 0-40°C and ±0.3°C from -25 to +85°C
Response time: 2.5 Seconds in stirred oil bath.
Interchangeability: +/-0.1°C from 20 to 45°C



PT916 – This is a temperature sensor with a closed end 1/8 inch diameter Stainless Steel tube and 3 feet (0.9m) Teflon insulated leads. Stainless Steel tubes are avilable in 4″, 6″ and 12″ lengths. Ideal for general temperature measurements where the probe will be submerged in liquid or exposed to moisture.

Temperature Range: -50° to 75°C (-58° to 167°F), up to 150°C possible for short periods.
Accuracy: ±0.15°C from 0-40°C and ±0.3°C from -25 to +85°C
Response time: 3.0 Seconds in stirred oil bath.
Interchangeability: +/-0.1°C from 20 to 45°C

An optional CF916 bored-through Stainless Steel fitting is available for the PT916 probes. Fitting has 1/8″ NPT male thread.

PT933 – This is a temperature sensor is a closed end stainless steel tube, 3/16″ dia. by 1″ long, with 20 foot cable. Cable is parallel bonded 24 gage, PVC insulated leads. Suitable for general temperature applications.

Temperature Range: -50° to 105°C (-58° to 221°F)
Accuracy: ±0.15°C from 0-40°C and ±0.3°C from -25 to +85°C
Interchangeability: +/-0.1°C from 0 to 70°C


PT960 – This is a rugged Stainless Steel temperature sensor. Probe dimensions: 6mm diameter, 50mm long and 6.1m TPE jacketed cable. Ideal for immersion, HVAC and soil burial applications. Probes cable is not recommended for immersion in fuels (fuel splashing on cable is OK).

Temperature Range: -40° to 100°C (-40° to 212°F)
Accuracy: ±0.15°C from 0-40°C and ±0.3°C from -25 to +85°C
Response time: 6.0 Seconds in stirred oil bath.
Interchangeability: +/-0.1°C from 0 to 70°C
IP Rating: IP68


Extending Probe Cables

It is recommended to use a 24 gage Copper wire with two conductor stranded cables for extending the sensors cables up to 100ft (30m). The Copper wire should be spliced to the sensor cable using any of the following methods: crimp connectors, wire nuts, hand twisting and taping, or solder. For cable runs longer than 20 feet, we recommend using shielded cable (Belden 9501 or equivalent)
