Description
The WiSens protection accessory line comprises rugged physical shields and deployment clamps explicitly tailored for the WiSens autonomous logger family. These components safeguard delicate underwater sensor housings against high-impact collisions, direct snagging, and structural wear during rigorous field campaigns. Functioning as both armour and mechanical anchors, they ensure that loggers remain securely positioned while maintaining uninhibited fluid dynamics around active measurement surfaces.
Some generic universal mountings can obstruct sensor flow or interfere with telemetry transmission, these purpose-built accessories preserve complete hydrological flow. They also incorporate smart design considerations that allow operators to trigger internal magnetic activation switches without disassembling the protective rigging.
Features
- High Shock Resilience: Constructed from impact-resistant materials designed to withstand severe collisions, bottom scraping, and stress from commercial fishing gear or trawls.
- Unrestricted Water Flow: Aerodynamically and hydrodynamically optimised profile preserves natural water movement around the probe to guarantee data accuracy.
- Integrated Magnetic Access: Engineered to accommodate magnetic activating clips, enabling wireless Wi-Fi wake-up and configuration while the logger remains fully caged.
- Versatile Mounting Options: Includes specialised axial suspension clamps for vertical column deployment and mooring clamps with adaptable diameters for rock or structure fixation.
- Versatile Trawl Integration: Easily secured onto commercial fishing nets, midwater trawls, and pelagic gear lines using robust attachment points.
- Seamless Logger Compatibility: Custom-moulded exclusively for the uniform 40 mm cylindrical profile of the majority of the WiSens data logger series. Separate one is required for the WiSENS CTD logger.
Applications
- Commercial fishing net, trawl, and pelagic gear monitoring deployments
- High-energy coastal oceanography and estuarine profiling stations
- Fixed-point river, lake, and rocky substrate benthic monitoring
- Long-term unattended aquatic environmental impact assessments
