Description
Our portable wireless umbilical data logging system is built around the GEN II Radio monitoring system. Providing a wireless monitoring system that can be mounted on to a rotating carousel without any cabling to get tangled up and the system architecture is flexible enough to adapt to the specific needs of each job. The transmitter can monitor pressures up to 700 Bar and resistance levels up to 100,000 Ohms. Transmitter can work together to provide real-time monitoring of both parameters. We have designed enclosures that can house, 1, 2 or 4 transmitters in weatherproof enclosures with quick connectors to the sensors and allow systems that are easily adapted to a specific job.
- Measure umbilical resistance range 0-100k ohms, resolution 1 ohm, accuracy ±2 ohms
- Measure umbilical pressure, ranges up to 700 Bar (10,000 PSI), with ¼” BSP or ¼”NPT threads
- Proprietary modules available for Fibre Optic signal monitoring, contact our sales team for custom configurations or adding to existing systems.
- Monitoring can be from as few as 2, up to 250 inputs, over up to 125 transmitters.
- Weather proof enclosures available for 1, 2 or 4 transmitters, with bulkheads to connect 5m cables for sensors.
- Up to 3 months battery operation on the carousel
- Simple 3 button set-up via built in display or from PC.
- Non-volatile memory provides 247,000 readings. Larger 1 and 2 million memory options available
- Time and date reported with each reading.
- Readings scaled ohms, PSI, Bar etc. engineering units (e.g. m/sec, ppm).
- Sensor connection is via IP67 waterproof connectors for ease of deployment.
- Remote communications via radio link allows real time display of resistance, pressure and other sensor values on the control PC.
- UKAS traceable calibration included with each pressure sensor and resistance point.
- Annual servicing available on returned systems. Ensures full system check prior to deployment.
The Wireless Umbilical Data Logger is engineered with a “scale-on-demand” logic that ensures the system remains a viable asset throughout the entire lifecycle of a project. Built on the flexible GEN II wireless framework, the system is not restricted to its initial factory configuration; users can integrate additional monitoring nodes or swap sensor types as umbilical testing requirements evolve. Whether a project begins with simple hydrostatic pressure logging and later requires the addition of electrical resistance (IR/CR), temperature gradients, or proprietary fibre optic health tracking, the RX250AL receiver can be expanded to manage up to 250 concurrent channels. This modularity allows for rapid field adaptation and post-deployment upgrades without the need for hardware returns, providing a versatile, long-term solution for complex offshore and subsea data acquisition.
