Wiring Diagram
The table below shows a selection of other ranges possible with the EL-USB-3 using the USB-CAP5 or USB-CAP-30V with additional external resistors.
Range | Ra | Rb3 | Cust1 | Cust2 | Steps
0 – 2.4V | 0 Ohm | None | 0V | 1.0V | 2.5mV | USB-CAP-5 |
0 – 5.0V | 36 kilohm | 30 kilohm | 0V | 2.2V | 10mV
0 – 10V | 51 kilohm | 15 kilohm | 0V | 4.4V | 20mV
0 – 30V | 56 kilohm | 4.7 kilohm | 0V | 12.915V | 50mV | USB-CAP-30V |
0 – 48V | CAP + 36 kilohm | CAP | 0V | 20.574V | 100mV TBC
0 – 65V | CAP + 68 kilohm | CAP | 0V | 27.383V | 100mV |
Using the USB-CAP-5 with the EL-USB-3 allows the logger work in a range of 0 – 2.4V with a resolution of 2.5mV. In the custom calibration in the software, set 0V to 0V and 12.915V to 1.0V. 12.915 is the scaling factor of the CAP but the logger does not know which cap is fitted so you have to adjust for it in the custom calibration. For other voltage ranges, use the corresponding values in the table above.
