Description
Omni Instruments subsea housings are engineered to bridge the gap between shallow-water utility and deep-ocean reliability. While many other manufacturer housings are restricted to specific depth tiers, our platform is designed around a high-integrity, 4,000m-capable chassis. This design choice isn’t just about depth; it provides the essential wall thickness required for maximum end-cap screw engagement, ensuring a fail-safe mechanical seal regardless of whether your deployment is at 10 meters or 4,000 meters.
Whether you are navigating the corrosive, oxygen-rich surf zones or deploying sensors to the abyssal plain, our modular approach allows for total customisation of materials, connectivity, and internal configurations.
1. Structural Integrity & Materials
We select materials based on your specific deployment environment:
- 316 Stainless Steel: Tested and certified for extreme depths up to 4,000m.
- Anodised Aluminium: Ideal for shallower deployments where weight reduction and corrosion resistance in aerated surf conditions are priorities.
- End-Cap Security: High-safety-factor wall thickness ensures threads for end-cap screws never compromise the structural hull.
2. Connectivity & Integration
- High-Density Wiring: End caps can be fitted with Subcon Wet-mateable connectors (up to 16 pins) rated for 4,000m.
- Safety First: Optional Pressure Relief Valves (PRV) are available to equalise internal pressure, making end-cap removal safe and effortless after long deployments.
- ROV & Diver Interfaces: Available with ROV-activated subsea switches and high-visibility subsea displays.
3. Internal Payload Support
- Custom Instrumentation Trays: We design and build internal chassis/sleds to secure your batteries, data loggers, or delicate sensors.
- Space Optimisation: Trays can be tailored to accommodate your existing equipment or our subsea tested loggers and batteries.
4. Experience and Pressure Testing
Every custom build is backed by our rigorous testing standards and subsea logging experience. Pressure testing certificates are available for various depths and durations, providing the verified data you need for offshore compliance and piece of mind.
Common Applications
- Pipeline Pressure & Temperature Logging
- Flow Metering & Subsea Telemetry
- Environmental Monitoring in Surf/Tidal Zones
