The WD-RS rain sensors can be combined with the WD-AMX alarm units to provide an output on the first signs of rain. This can be used to automate the closure of windows on the first drops of rain. The WD-AMX alarm unit includes a 250vAC @ 12A relay that can be used to activate motors to close the windows, or by integration into an existing Building Management System to then control the windows. The WD-RS sensor also has an integrated heater to prevent false alarms resulting from dew forming.
The WD-RS range of rain sensors are used to detect rain. The surface of the detector can be heated to avoid false detection alarms resulting from dew forming. The detector can be swivelled on the mounting bracket and is held in place by a wing-nut. This device cannot be connected directly to a BMS controller, a WD-AMX module must be used. NB The cable excitation used from the WD-AMX is an isolated AC signal which ensures the detectors will not be subject to oxidation or erosion over time, avoiding the degradation problems associated with DC systems.
