Description
There are three mounting methods typically used for vibration monitoring applications; stud mounting, adhesive bonding and magnetic mounting. Stud mounting is the preferred method for permanent mounting applications but adhesive and magnetic mounting can provide a secure mounting for permanent and temporary mounting.
Adhesive mounting can be ideal for quickly fixing a mounting point to machinery without the need to drill holes into machinery, or other extensive machining required. The mounting location should be cleaned of debris and as flat as possible. Adhesive mounting adaptors allow a permanent fixing to be secured to machinery to allow a male fixing thread.
However, adhesive mounting will reduce the operation frequency range since the adhesive will act like a shock absorber. The ridged surface on our flat base mounting adaptors allows the adhesive to work in these grooves, whilst the raised part can make contact with the surface to minimise any dampening. Adhesive mounting can be the most difficult to remove the sensor but using a mounting adaptor allows the sensor to be removed and the mounting adaptor left for future vibration monitoring.
MTN/MS001 Quickfit to Flat Base Adapters
An alternative adapter type to permanent adapters having a quick release thread on the machine end. The adapter still has high rigidity but with reduced high-frequency response. Locates in the machine with less than one turn making them convenient for integral cable sensors that may need removal from time to time.
