Description
The MTN/1185 Series is a general purpose, top?entry RMS velocity transducer with 2-wire proportional 4-20mA output. Stainless Steel construction allows for continuous vibration monitoring in harsh industrial environments with an IP67 rating. Sensors are fitted with an integral connector and is available with a wide range of mountings.
RMS Velocity Transducers
Velocity transducers are vibration sensors that provide a conditioned 4-20mA output proportional to the RMS value of the displacement velocity values of the vibration. The output shows displacement as a function of time and is provided in mm/sec. Velocity transducers are ideal for monitoring and control processes as they provide a stable output that can easily be monitored over time for variations.
Any change in the normal vibration signal can indicate issues that need immediate attention to prevent damage to equipment. Changes in the vibration can indicate a piece of machinery is working loose from its mounting, fan blade malfunction, bearing failures or other machinery wear. Logging the vibration readings at regular intervals can be useful to highlight the gradual wear of part of a machine. This can also help to provide information on the expected life of machinery in any given application and allow for a suitable replacement to be purchased before a failure and limit the duration of any shutdowns caused by mechanical failures.

Standard units come with a ¼” UNF Female, Quick Fit Female or ½” NPT Male mounting options with a selection of different mounting adapters are available to provide M8, M10 and M12 mounting threads.
