Description
The DEPLOYCORD-50 is 50m long, but can be cut to length and should be approximately one meter longer than this measurement in order to ensure the logger will always remain submerged. Secure the cord to the sensor, or logger, cap and the suspension point. Two carabiner clips are provided with the cable and stainless steel ferrules are either end.
If an AquaProbe is to be deployed in open water (i.e. a river, lake or the sea), a length of plastic tubing, or pipe, should first be mounted, then the Probe should be suspended within the pipe so it is always under water, but not on the bottom where it could become buried by silt. This will protect the AquaProbe from currents, wave action, and debris.
Where sensors sensors are also monitoring other conditions, eg pH, Conductivity and Salinity, care should be taken to ensure these sensors will get a flow of water and not be contaminated from the pipe. Metal pipes should NOT be used in these cases.
All Probes must not be submerged below twice their rated depths. If any Probe is submerged past this limit, the pressure sensor may be damaged and will require replacing. Damage of this kind is not covered by your warranty. It may be worth increasing the monitored depth to account for local flooding conditions, or at least peak tidal levels.
