Rutland 1803 Windcharger

  • Description

Description

The Furlmatic Rutland FM1803 Windcharger is a powerful battery charging turbine that is perfect for off-grid farm buildings, telemetry stations, telecom sites, radio/TV transmitter stations, security camera systems, military field applications, poultry sheds and many more situations where power is needed at isolated places.

The 24V Rutland FM1803 Windcharger can be used “stand-alone” or in conjunction with solar panels and/or a diesel generator to create your own 24V power system. You can use the 24V power to deliver the necessary power to remote monitoring sites and power other instrumentation. The Rutland FM1803-2 can reduce your dependence on solar or diesel generators and unlike solar panel, that need cleaned and provide no power during the night, or diesel generators, that need refilled regularly, the Rutland FM1803 require less frequent on-site maintenance.

Rutland has a policy and culture of continuous improvement and so the current model is the 3rd generation of the 1.8m diameter turbine since it’s launch in 1988. Improvements adopted over the lifetime have been:

  • Power production at 10m/s (22mph) increase from 250W to 340W, that’s nearly a 40% power increase
  • Shape and styling have developed at each generation, the latest 3 bladed design is super smooth
  • Aerofoil blades that have been adapted and improved
  • Rutland’s turbine designs are extremely efficient. They achieve energy conversion factors at around the theoretical limit across the wide range of wind speeds.

All Rutland products are built and tested to the highest standards and their commitment to this was demonstrated when they became the first small wind turbine manufacturer in the world to achieve ISO 9001 status over 10 years ago.
