Description

The MINI20242 is a Steel vane anemometer probe suitable for use with the MC20 handheld display for monitoring the flows of aggressive gases. The probe head is a Steel construction with a metal turbine that generates a frequency output each time a blade passes the probe handle. The frequency of rotation is almost proportional to the air-flow velocity and largely independent of pressure, temperature, density and humidity. The MC20 converts the rotational frequency into a standard signal and shows the measured value in the display.

The MINI20242 includes the Micro vane anemometer screwed to the shaft. The head is only 11mm in diameter, with a flow range of 0-20m/s. This head is the same size as the probe handle, which allows the sensor to be inserted into a compression gland and only requires a minimum access diameter of 16mm. The Micro head is ideal for measuring flow rates in ducting and other small pipe work, or any applications where a probe needs to be inserted and secured in place.

Cleaning Instructions – MiniAir20 Micro Steel Probe

As the probes are highly sensitive measuring instruments, they must be cleaned with very great care. It is also advised that probes are cleaned after use with aggressive gases to avoid any contamination issues.

Any fibres, hair or other foreign bodies can be carefully removed with fine tweezers. When doing so, take care not to bend or otherwise damage the vanes or the spindle.

The adjustment of the bearing screws must never be changed. This can result in erroneous measurements.

Never allow hard objects to contact rotating impellers!!!

We recommend the following for cleaning the probes:

– running water
– soapy water
– pure benzine

Cleaning example:

1) Carefully swish the top part of the impeller back and forth in clean, pure benzine for about 10 min. Then swish the top part of the impeller back and forth in clean kerosene for about. 1 min. to re-lubricate the impeller bearings.

If soapy water is used as a cleaning agent it is advisable to wash out the soap solution thoroughly with distilled water before lubrication with kerosene.

2) After cleaning the probe, rub it dry externally with a clean, dry, fluff-free cloth.

3) Leave the top part of the impeller to dry for about 30 minutes.

Only clean the head of the impeller! Probes are on no account to be fully immersed in the solution. Probe handles should be surface cleaned with a suitable cloth.

General handling tips:

– Protect the probes against severe vibration
– Do not kink the connector cable (risk of cable break)
– Never allow hard objects to contact rotating impellers
– Always carry out probe cleaning according to thecleaning instructions
– Never immerse probes in solvent
– Never blow probes through with compressed air
– Allow hot high temperature probes to cool slowly; never cool by plunging them in cold water or similar.

MINI20242 is the replacement part for part no. 93.0440.
