The N1050 is a PID temperature controller that combines high performance and distinctive design, merging the proven robustness of Novus’s PID algorithm with an LCD display that offers 11-segment alphanumeric mnemonics, larger digits, and clear status signalling.
The N1050 stands out from older or alternative Novus series (like the N1040, N1020, or N1200) primarily through its modern screen technology, layout design, and power efficiency:
- 11-Segment Alphanumeric Characters: Unlike standard 7-segment displays that only render basic, blocky numbers and cryptic letters, the N1050 uses an 11-segment LCD display. This allows for full, readable text menus and parameter descriptions directly on the screen rather than abbreviated codes.
- High-Contrast Multi-Colour LCD vs. LED: While controllers like the N1040 use standard red/green LED segment displays, the N1050 upgrades to a customised multi-colour LCD. This provides significantly wider viewing angles, sharper contrast in high-ambient-light environments, and larger digit heights relative to its 1/16 DIN bezel size.
- Compact Depth & Low Power: The redesign behind the LCD screen allows for a shorter overall enclosure depth (fitting into tighter panels) and makes the unit one of the lowest power-consumption controllers.
