N323TR Temperature Controller

  • Description

Description

The N323TR (Part Number 80323C3030) is a high-performance temperature controller engineered for complex refrigeration environments where efficiency and data integration are non-negotiable. This temperature controller has been designed for direct integration into standard global power grids. By eliminating the need for an external DC power supply, this model simplifies installation in commercial kitchens, walk-in freezers, and industrial warehouses.

Unlike standard thermostats, the N323TR utilises dual NTC sensors to simultaneously monitor ambient air and evaporator coil temperatures. This dual-zone oversight prevents frost build-up and maintains a tight thermal band, protecting sensitive inventory while slashing energy waste.

Why Choose the 80323C3030?

  • Smart Scheduling: An integrated Real-Time Clock (RTC) allows for automated, scheduled defrost cycles, ensuring peak performance without manual intervention.
  • Built-in Resilience: Engineered to maintain precise thermal bands even in high-traffic environments where frequent door openings require rapid evaporator response.
  • Universal Voltage Input: Designed to handle wide 100–240 vAC, this unit is compatible with global power standards, making it the go-to choice for equipment anywhere in the world.

This variant offers four specialised points of control to optimise your cooling strategy:

1. Relay 1: Compressor Control (Main Cooling)

The heavy-duty (SPDT) relay used to maintain the primary set point.

  • Function: It cycles the compressor on and off based on the air temperature sensor (Probe 1).
  • Protection: The N323TR includes programmable “minimum ON” and “minimum OFF” times for this relay to prevent “short-cycling,” which protects the compressor from premature electrical or mechanical failure.

2. Relay 2: Defrost Management

The second (SPST) relay can be dedicated to removing ice buildup from the evaporator coils.

  • Function: Depending on your setup, it can trigger an electric heating element or a hot gas bypass valve to melt frost.
  • Intelligence: Unlike basic timers, the N323TR uses its second sensor (Probe 2) on the evaporator to determine exactly when to stop the defrost cycle. This “Termination Temperature” ensures you don’t waste energy heating the coils longer than necessary.

3. Relay 3: Evaporator Fan Control

The third relay manages the fans that circulate cold air within the unit.

  • Function: It allows for “Fan Delay” logic. For example, after a defrost cycle, the N323TR can keep the fans OFF until the coils have cooled back down.
  • The Benefit: This prevents the unit from blowing warm, moist air onto the food or products immediately after a defrost, maintaining a much more stable internal climate.

4. Real Time Clock: Scheduling Defrost Cycles

The final feature is the N323TR has an Internal clock to allow up to 8 daily defrost cycles.

  • Function: It allows for defrost cycles to run more frequently during periods when a cold room door may not be constantly open and closed.
  • The Benefit: This prevents the stock being exposed to higher temperatures, whilst still ensuring a deep defrost is done during off hours to clear any ice build up.
