Description
Caution:
- Make sure the air is fully depressurized before drilling the holes
- Wear safety glasses.
- Clamp the drill guide firmly in place.
- Take proper precautions to ensure that metal shavings entering the pipe do not reach critical equipment or get blown out in a way that could cause injury.
Find a location that meets the upstream and downstream requirements of the flowmeter being installed and consider the angle that will allow for easy visibility of the meter’s display.
Secure the drill guide in place using a C-clamp, a band clamp or a chain clamp.
Match the pair of numbered holes to the meter being installed:
- All 5200 meters
- 2” and 2.5” 5400 meters
- 3” and larger 5400 meters
Drill the two corresponding holes (3/16” bit included) and remove any resulting burrs from the outside of the pipe. Make sure the outside surface of the pipe is clean and smooth before installing the meter.
