MX6 10.6eV PID Response Factor Table

Description

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are a broad class of organic chemicals that readily evaporate at room temperature, turning into gases. They are “organic” because they contain carbon and “volatile” because they easily vaporise. Many VOCs have a noticeable odour, and some can be quite strong or unpleasant.

Key Properties:

  • Vaporise Easily: They have a low boiling point, meaning they turn into gas readily.
  • Diverse Group: They encompass a vast number of individual chemical compounds (e.g., formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, acetone, ethanol).
  • Often Odourous: Many have distinct smells, but some dangerous VOCs are odourless, making them stealthy hazards.
  • Health Impacts: Can cause a range of health effects, from mild irritation to serious long-term health problems.
  • Contribute to Smog: Outdoors, they react with nitrogen oxides in the presence of sunlight to form ground-level ozone (smog).

MX6 Replacement Sensor Cells

The MX6 gas detectors include field replaceable, plug-in sensors. The user can replace any sensor in the field and have the instrument in service after performing a simple field calibration. Up to 5 sensor can be installed, each in one or more specific location.
