Nitrogen Dioxide Calibration Gas Cylinders

Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) is a highly reactive, toxic, and corrosive gas primarily generated as a byproduct of diesel engine exhaust, industrial combustion, power generation, and chemical processing. In enclosed environments, such as underground mines, vehicle maintenance bays, parking structures, and tunnelling operations, NO2 can rapidly build to dangerous concentrations, posing severe risks of acute respiratory damage and chronic health complications. Precise, routine calibration of your gas monitors is essential to verify sensor sensitivity and guarantee that exposure limits trigger immediate safety alarms.

Because NO2 is a strong oxidiser highly prone to surface reaction and concentration decay in standard steel containers, maintaining mixture accuracy requires specialised packaging. All of our single-gas Nitrogen Dioxide calibration cylinders are supplied in passivated Aluminium cylinders, protecting the gas mixture against adsorption and ensuring long-term stability. Available in 34L, 58L, and 116L portable capacities, these cylinders provide mobile service engineers and facility safety personnel with reliable solutions for field bump testing and regular sensor maintenance on detectors like the GasBadge Pro, Tango TX1, and MX6.

Choosing the right cylinder size depends on your operational scale and testing setup:
  • 34L & 58L Portable Cylinders: Best suited for field technicians, mining inspectors, and ventilation engineers conducting on-site bump tests or routine calibrations using manual calibration cups.

  • 116L Cylinders: Ideal for central maintenance teams, diesel fleet depots, or industrial sites managing regular routine maintenance across multiple dedicated single-gas monitors (e.g., GasBadge Pro, Tango TX1, or MX6 equipped with NO2 sensors).
