Differential Flow Transmitters - DPT-FLOW

  • Description

Description

The DPT-FLOW-1000-AZ-D is ideal for high-precision low flows in HVAC/R building automation systems. This unit provides multi-variable monitoring by measuring volume flow, velocity, and both static and differential pressure. This unit is optimised for versatility, the DPT-FLOW models with the -AZ function are designed for high precision or difficult to access installs that require accurate real-time fan flow data. This specific unit features:

  • Integrated Digital Display: The “D” configuration provides an intuitive on-site interface for immediate local monitoring.
  • Precision Range: Calibrated for differential pressure of up to 1000 Pa.
  • Smart Configuration: The user-friendly interface allows for rapid commissioning, with pre-set parameters for various fan manufacturers and in-duct measurement probes.
  • Auto-Zeroing: The -AZ Models include an automatic zeroing function, which zeroes the pressure measurement every 10 minutes.

Applications

  • Control the ventilation system via connected EC controller, frequency inverter or other control unit with 0-10 V power supply.
  • Monitoring air volume flow or pressure directly on air handling unit
  • Ideal sensors for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects
  • Can be used to monitor VAV (Variable Area Volume) Boxes in HVAC Systems

Features

  • Connect directly on fan or ventilation unit
  • Output signals for differential pressure and air volume flow
  • Auto-Zeroing is an internal automated valve that re-calibrates the sensor every 10 minutes.
  • Includes a 5 Year Warranty

Specifications

Power Supply: 24VDC/VAC (22…26V)
Power Consumption: < 1VA
Pressure Measurement: 100-1000Pa
Accuracy (25°C): Pressure < 125 Pa = ±1% plus ±2 Pa
Pressure > 125 Pa = ±1% plus ±1 Pa
Zero Point Calibration: Automatic Zeroing. Zeroes the pressure measurement every 10 minutes to eliminate any zero point drift.
Suitable media: Dry air and non-aggressive gases
Output signals: 0-10/2-10vDC, > 1kΩ
4-20mA, Load 20…500Ω
Temperature Range: -5 to +50°C
Materials  Housing: ABS and PC Plastic
Cable Gland: M16
Dimensions: 90 x 95 x 36 mm
Protection: IP54

Auto-Zeroing Technology

High-performance HVAC systems rely on stable data. Over time, standard differential pressure sensors can “drift” due to environmental changes, leading to inaccurate flow readings and wasted fan energy.

  • Automatic Calibration: The Autozero (-AZ) models feature an internal solenoid valve that periodically re-calibrates the zero point (every 10 minutes).
  • Reduced Site Visits: Eliminates the need for manual annual re-zeroing by a technician.
  • Critical Environments: Recommended for hospitals, cleanrooms, and high-ceiling AHUs where manual access is difficult or costly.
  • Energy ROI: Ensures your Q = k × √ΔP calculation remains 100% accurate, preventing Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) from over-running due to sensor error.
