GMX101 Solar Radiation Sensor

Quick Overview

The GMX101 solar radiation sensor is from the MaxiMet range of compact weather stations. The GMX101 features an integrated Hukseflux net pyranometer to measure solar radiation and offers additional benefits over other solar sensors. Additional derived parameters, including sunshine hours calculation, twilight, position of the sun, sun rise, sunset and solar noon are available. Plus, a built-in digital inclinometer with real-time output aids the installation, maintenance and data quality. The instrument complies with ISO 9060 2nd Class compliance and WMO Guidelines. Spectral range 300-3000nm, Measurement data is provided in RS232, RS485, RS422, SDI-12, NMEA and MODBUS serial outputs, plus an optional analogue output. Power supply 5-30vDC, current consumption 6mA.

Details

The GMX101 is the latest model in the MaxiMet range of compact weather stations and features an integrated Hukseflux net pyranometer to measure solar radiation plus derived parameters. The highly accurate solar instrument uses a single glass dome protected thermal sensor to monitor both short and long wave solar radiation up to a maximum of 1600 watts per metre squared (Wm²) in a spectral range of 300-3000nm.

The GMX101 offers additional benefits over other solar radiation and other light sensors. The GMX101 features additional derived parameters including sunshine hours calculation, twilight, position of the sun, sun rise, sunset and solar noon. Some derived parameters require the GPS data to be configured in the MetSet software to allow accurate calculations. The sensor also includes a built-in digital inclinometer with real-time output to aid installation, maintenance and data quality.

The GMX101 has been designed for use in the agro-meteorological and solar PV panel performance monitoring applications and includes ISO 9060 2nd Class and World Meterological Organisation (WMO) Guideline compliance. This sensor can be easily integrated into remote weather station, weather buoys or fixed installations to work as a stand alone solar radiation sensor or as part of a larger environmental monitoring system.
