6350 Profibus PA/Foundation Fieldbus Transmitter

Quick Overview

The 6350 is a DIN Rail mounting programmable bus transmitters with Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus output suitable for RTD, TC, Linear resistance, potentiometer and bipolar mV measurement. The bus transmitters convert the inputs into a bus communication output via Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus. The unt requires a 9 to 32vDC power supply and can be mounted vertically or horizontally on a DIN rail. The unit can accept single or dual channel inputs with the option of intrinsically safe versions and galvanic isolation.

Profibus PA

Profibus PA is the Profibus solution for process automation. Profibus PA connects automation systems and process control systems with field devices such as pressure, temperature and level transmitters. Profibus PA can be used as a substitute for the analog 4 to 20 mA technology. Profibus PA achieves cost savings of over 40% in planning, cabling, commissioning and maintenance and offers a significant increase in functionality and security.

Foundation Fieldbus

Foundation fieldbus is an all-digital, serial, two-way communications system that serves as a Local Area Network (LAN) for factory/plant instrumentation and control devices. The fieldbus environment is the base level group of the digital networks in the hierarchy of plant networks. Foundation fieldbus is used in both process and manufacturing automation applications and has a built-in capability to distribute the control application across the network.
