Low Cost Yacht Anemometer

The Yacht Anemometer is a self-powered cup star anemometer suitable for monitoring wind speeds up to 210Km/h with a 0-2.1V output. The anemometer uses an alternator with two precision ball bearings to generate a voltage proportional to the wind speed. Units are supplied with 15m of shielded PVC cable and options are available for units supplied with indicators.

WindMaster 3D Ultrasonic Anemometer

The WindMaster 3D ultrasonic anemometer will monitor wind speeds up to 65m/s (145mph), providing digital outputs for U, V, and W vectors, sonic temperature and speed of sound values. Analogue Outputs are also available with relevant options. The WindMasters are constructed from Aluminium and Carbon Fibre, or Stainless Steel, with an IP65 rating. 20Hz, 32Hz sample rates and configurable output rate. Meteorological TFT Wind Speed & Direction Display

The Meteorological TFT Wind Display has been designed to operate with the WindObserver and WindSonic wind sensors, using the wind sensors NMEA output..The display will provide the power supply for the wind sensor and can be "daisy chained" to a second wind display, or other logging equipment, to transfer wind sensor information. The display is user configurable and can provide wind speed in mph, m/s, knots, Km/h and Beaufort. Power supply can be configured to suit the customer specific requirements.

The WindObserver IS system is an Intrinsically Safe Ultrasonic Anemometers developed specifically for use in hazardous areas and offshore applications. The full system required no regular maintenance for a reliable low maintenance wind speed and direction sensor. The ATEX, IECEx & UKEX certification ensures that the wind system may be deployed anywhere in the worldwide, without the need for expensive local recertification. The WindObserver II provides wind speed and direction data via 1 digital and 3 analogue outputs and features an IP66 rated stainless steel housing, which is particularly suitable for use in salt-water environments. The anemometer also has an optional anti-icing heating option enabling the sensor to operate effectively in extreme environmental conditions, like those experienced at high altitude or at sea. The WindObserver II has been type approved by the Lloyds Register for use in marine and offshore applications.

WindObserver 70, 75 & 90 Ultrasonic Anemometers

The WindObserver 70 is a solid state, heated ultrasonic anemometer designed for use within the aviation industry and for applications where weather conditions are more extreme. The sensor is accepted for service by both the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration and the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) for the observation and reporting of surface wind. This WindObserver meets the requirements of Annex 3 of the convention on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The WindObserver 75 is recommended for high altitude, Arctic and Antarctic weather monitoring. The WindObserver 90 is ideal for measuring high wind speeds, up to 100m/s (224mph), in extreme weather conditions, eg typhoons and hurricanes.

The new WindObservers are currently being approved by the Lloyd's Register of London.
