Pyranometers are widely used by weather and climate scientists to monitor the amount of solar radiation hitting the Earth at a specific location and time. Pyranometers are used for to monitor the solar radiation flux density in Watts per square meter. The Wm² value can be critical in calculating the return on investment and the ongoing efficiency of solar farms and other solar power installations.
Purchase prices for each type of pyranometer can be found in each section. Items also include all options available and accessories.
The Meteon is a compact handheld display and data logger optimised for the PV related solar radiation measurement. It comes in a rugged carrying case that also offers room for a pyranometer and cable. It can accept up to 5 Smart pyranometers and one analogue radiometer, plus temperature sensor. A kWh pulse input is also available. The Meteon 2.0 can measure, display and log data from up to 8 devices, or used in transparent mode to act as a universal RS-485 interface for connected Modbus sensors. 5 x AA Internal batteries can provide power to the connected Smart pyranometers. Internal memory for 380,000 values of average, minimum, maximum for 7 instruments + pulse total for a connected kWh meter. USB interface for logger configuration and data download via CSV or xlsx files..
The CMP10 Pyranometer is a Spectrally Flat Class A pyranometer which provides a faster response, better linearity and a wider measurement range than the CMP3 and CMP6. The CMP10 uses a 32-junction thermopile detectors and provides an expected output of 0-21mV based on a sensitivity of 7 to 14µV/W/m². The CMP10 has two, 2mm thick, high quality concentric domes which reduces directional error and improves thermal isolation. The CMP10 also has built-in temperature compensation and an internal desiccant that lasts for 10 years. Spectral range of 285 to 2800nm. The sealed construction and 10 year desiccant pack makes this pyranometer ideal for long-term installations for meteorological, hydrological and agricultural applications in difficult to reach locations.
The SMP6 Pyranometer is a Class B pyranometer with industry standard digital and analogue amplified outputs. The SMP6 is identical to the CMP6 pyranometer but includes an RS485 Modbus RTU interface allowing for an improved response time and rescaleable, temperature corrected measurement data. The SMP6 has a dual-dome construction with high quality glass and an increased thermal mass covering a spectral range of 285 to 2800nm. This unit is ideal for high quality solar radiation monitoring for site prospecting or technology research for solar energy applications. It is also particularly suitable for upgrading meteorological networks and for use in sun tracker based solar monitoring stations.
