GSKIN Heat Flux Sensors are used to provide fast and precise thermal measurements. The sensors have a range of surface areas, from as small as 4.4 x 4.4mm and as large as 18 x 18mm. The 0.5mm thickness ensures that the plate minimises distruption to the sensing area. The sensors cover a heat flux range of -150 to +150kW/m², over an operating temperature range of -50 to +150°C. The sensors are able to measure three different types of heat transfer: conduction; convection; and radiation. The sensors are fully calibrated for measuring conductive heat flux for highly precise measurements from a solid surface to gas and between two solid materials with a 0.7 second response time.

Details

GSKIN heat flux sensors can be applied for thermal measurements in control systems where precision and speed are of central importance. The sensors use 29 ultra-sensitive thermocouples to generate a small mV output that is proportional to the heat flux. The heat flux can be calculated by dividing the mV output by the sensors sensitivity. The sensors respond to all three types of heat transfer: conduction, convection and radiation.
