KATflow 160 ATEX approved Exd Ultrasonic Flow Meter
The KATflow 160 is a purpose-built ATEX certified ultrasonic flow meter for applications where our standard safe area instruments are not suitable. The explosion-proof meter is available with various configurations including process outputs, serial communications and power supplies. In addition, the flow transmitter can be offered with a 12 V DC power option, which makes the meter suitable for remote platform applications where power would be provided through solar energy and battery packs.

The standard transmitter unit is manufactured from aluminium, which can be epoxy-coated upon request for greater protection. Alternatively for more demanding applications, it can be offered in stainless steel to allow for maximum possible resistance to harsh environments.
The non-invasive meter is ideal for many of the applications found in the petrochemical and offshore industries. The sensors are mounted externally of the pipework, therefore they remain unaffected by the corrosive or toxic nature of some products. Furthermore, flow measurements are completely independent of pressure, meaning that even for injection applications where 300 bar g are possible, the KF160 can still determine the flow rate without difficulty.
