For this application our customer wanted to utilise the Datataker DT80 data logger as a portable wellhead pressure testing logging and monitoring system.
To monitor pressure real time on a wellhead during pressure testing and log the results. Up to 4 pressures and an ambient temperature needed to be logged for periods up to 1 week. The system needed to be a self contained 1box solution with a compartment for the sensors when not used, and robust and portable
System Description
The system comprised of a DT80 data logger fiited in a Peli case, with 2 x 7AH gel cell batteries to provide continuous operation for 1 week without external power. Pressure measurement was proviced with 4 of our PI642R pressure tranamitters, fitted with 10 metres of cable. Thes are coonected to the logger via bulkead connectors. Whne not in use the pressure transmitters and temperature sensors can be coild up and stored inside the case. An external mains power supply was also provided for battery charging and mains power operation.
The DT80 is capable of storing 5,000,000 readings and can log as fast 20Hz. Data can be offloaded either by direct connection from the logger to a PC by USB cable, or by use of a USB memory stick. The Delogger windows graphical software is used for viewing historical data in graph and table format, exporting data to MS Excel, and making any program changes to the logger.
